We are now looking for a highly engaged and motivated statistician
looking for the next step in their career to join our existing team of 8
Statisticians and Data Scientists. The team is primarily based in the UK
offices but we work across our global network of regional offices. This role will ideally be based
in our head office in Wallingford, Oxfordshire (between cultural Oxford and
The role itself will be extremely
varied, interesting and challenging, using a wide range of tools from basic
stats applications through to linear and non-linear modelling, multivariate
techniques and analysis of variance. Examples of tools are MMR’s proprietary SensoHedonic
modelling (based on sensory and consumer preference mapping and segmentation),
Design of Experiment, Structural Equation modelling such as Bayesian and PLS
Pathway, C&RT, advanced choice based modelling / conjoint and multi-variate
forecasting and predictive modelling. Extensive experience of the whole breadth of
this offering is neither essential nor expected but a willingness to learn new
techniques and embracing the spirit of constantly developing and improving the
MMR offering is.
work as part of a strong team and be involved from project inception
(contributing ideas to research design and how the data is collected) right
through to analysing the results and offering insight from a statistical
perspective on the trends observed in the data. In addition, the MMR team are
constantly innovating and there will be many opportunities to help develop new
techniques and refine existing ones in a highly stimulating and rewarding
working environment. Effective
communication is a key element of the role. As well as the internal research
teams, you will have regular exposure to client stakeholders in the form of
senior insight, marketing and R&D teams.
A further area we see as
increasingly pivotal to our growth is the ability to automate and drive
efficiency over our Data Sciences offering as a whole. Therefore an interest
and understanding of programming would be highly beneficial.
Skills & Experience:
to post-graduate level with relevant statistical content
computer literate with skills in Excel and statistical software
time management & ability to multi-task effectively
and the willingness to learn new techniques

Ideally your academic background
would be educated to a strong postgraduate level with relevant statistical
content and strong experience in a similar role but ability, enthusiasm and
