Reading University, UK: Part-time Sensory Panellist (Denture Panel)
Do you wear dentures? Working part-time as a Sensory Panellist allows you to learn a new skill in a unique role to help bring products specialised for denture wearers to life and the hours can also be fitted around an existing job role.
MMR Research Worldwide specialise in consumer and sensory market research in the food, drink, personal and household care sectors.
We are currently looking for articulate and collaborative people who wear full top plate dentures (no indent) to join an exciting new sensory team based at our Sensory Science Centre at Reading University. Using the new skills that you’ll learn, you will be required to evaluate denture adhesives, cleansers and specialist toothpastes, paid at an hourly rate of £8.20 per hour.
No prior knowledge is required as full training will be given.
Unfortunately, if you have any food intolerances or allergies, mouth piercings, chronic oral conditions or have any medical conditions which require regular medication, this position will not be suitable for you as panellists are required to test a varying range of products.
This is a part-time role for a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The first 12 weeks will be a training period and will require you to work 2.5 hours per day, 3 days per week in Reading within a large group. These hours could take place within or outside of working hours depending on your availability and the times and days would be fixed for the duration of the training period and be agreed before the commencement of the role.
Following the training period, your core hours will be an hour and a half on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and you will be required to spend a proportion of this time at Reading University (between 7.30am and 9am as agreed with your manager – on most days it is likely to be c. 45 minutes), and the rest of the evaluation will be completed in your own home and / or your working environment.
Parking permits for parking on the campus of the Reading University will be provided as part of the package for both the training period and core working hours.
